White Desert II - White Heat

Dax awoke with a start. The dream had been so vivid - the crashed spaceship, the stone pillar, the burning white sand… and something, no, someone else… He remembered her golden eyes and grey, patterned skin, and a headset with wires like Medusa’s snakes leading to cortical plugs. He closed his eyes to focus his memory, and when he opened them again she was standing next to him, semi-transparent but real. She reached out and touched his forehead, and he saw exactly where the ship had come down. He also knew that he had very little time to get there before the searing heat would kill all survivors and the energy scavengers would strip the alien ship of everything of value. As he started to rise, she stared at him intently, nodded once, then faded to nothingness. He had a lot to do…
